The City of Education is built every day

With teachers of four continents participating, the work of the XXXV RIDEF begins. The city of Oaxaca converts into a large school and the Secundaria Moisés Sáenz is transformed into a tower of babel that allows the Freinet teachers to share ideas, experiences, and suggestions that bring us to reflect on and follow the thought and practice of Freinet pedagogy.

Our meeting in Oaxaca, the heart of Mexico's resistance, makes it possible to deepen the critical thinking of the Freinet Pedagogy and above all of the militant and liberating educators of the people.

We get together to share our countries' culture in a collaborative meal, we make a walk through the historic streets of the city of Oaxaca intertwined with music, marmotas (big balls with relics inside) y zancudas (stilt walkers). This culminates with the inauguration of the event in the beautiful Alhóndiga de Antequera.

Thanks to the administrators and merchants of the mercados, especially the mercado Veinte de Noviembre (Melis and Fer) and mercado Benito Juárez (Apo).
