Cooperative translation: it concerns us all!
RIDEF's collective moments are always in three languages: Spanish, French and English. We don't have professional translators, but with our intelligence and cooperation, it works!
BEFORE YOU SPEAK
- If you're going to be translated, make sure your translator is ready.
- If you're going to translate yourself, tell the translator.
WHILE YOU'RE SPEAKING
- Use simple sentences.
- Pause frequently (in general: translation after every 3 sentences).
- Don't answer a question until it's been translated.
- Look at the audience and at your translator.
WHILE YOU’RE LISTENING
- Be very quiet during speaking and translation times, as translators are very concentrated.
- Don’t hesitate to use these gestures:
