Cooperative translation: how to do it?

Cooperative translation: it concerns us all!

RIDEF's collective moments are always in three languages: Spanish, French and English. We don't have professional translators, but with our intelligence and cooperation, it works!

BEFORE YOU SPEAK

• If you're going to be translated, make sure your translator is ready.
• If you're going to translate yourself, tell the translator.

WHILE YOU'RE SPEAKING

• Use simple sentences.
• Pause frequently (in general: translation after every 3 sentences).
• Don't answer a question until it's been translated.
• Look at the audience and at your translator.

WHILE YOU’RE LISTENING

• Be very quiet during speaking and translation times, as translators are very concentrated.
